Project Horizon: Dara Station

Dara Station is one of the few distribution centers located on the desert planet Dara. The station serves as a sort of general store for the local mining operations, buying and selling resources and equipment, as well as providing fuel and storage services. I made Dara station to be one of the locations explored in Project Horizon. The station itself was made in Blender, using trim sheets and stamps, alongside tiling textures to texture the large asset. The space ship on the pad was purchased on Turbosquid as a base asset, which I then unwrapped and textured in Blender. Several of the other assets scattered around the scene were modeled in Blender and textured in Substance Painter. The landscape heightmap was made in Gaea, and I used several of the masks generated in Gaea to texture the landscape in Unreal. I used Quixel megascans for the cliffs, and plants. The scene was lit and rendered with lumen, except for the reflections, which are raytraced. I'm also using the new nanite landscape displacement feature, which is new to 5.3. The animated aspects of the scene include several particle systems, an animated material which covers the landscape to make a shifting sands effect, and a heat distortion effect for the distance. This project serves both as a sort of style exploration for the station architecture, as well as a concept piece for the future of Project Horizon
